Birthday parties are great! Love meeting new people & watching my boy make new friends .. it’s a good time! 

Birthday cake isn’t to bad either ..

August is a busy time for birthdays .. I think I know five people just this week having a birthay!

Yesterday we were at our neighbors house and celebrated their son’s 2nd birthday! There were kids running around, pinata with lots of candy and my boy was having so much fun.

i know.. i said i wouldn’t bore you with pictures of flower in my yard.. instead you get cute kids in the pool.

.. this is the spot! who knew that a little pool could bring hours of fun to the boy and relaxation to me?! we fill it up in the a.m ..and it gets to be a nice comfortable temperature for long stretches of swim time.

jack (the little cutiepie i take care of) and chase love hanging out together .. they have so much fun and even though chase looked all like “no jack stop that” he kept encouraging jack to splash harder.. ah boys ..

i park myself in a chair/cold drink and i’m a lifeguard at my own pool ..

we just filled up his pool last night with hopes of hanging out in it all day (in the sun) and i could sit quietly next to him in my beach chair.. i really love my back yard and hope that we can make use of it during every season.

he’s off to the campground this weekend and he’s pretty excited about it.. he’ll get to drive around on a golf cart and since it’s christmas in august up there,  he’ll even get a present from the big guy in red ..aka.. santa! whoo!

so me and chris are kid free this weekend.. we’re not sure how to spend our time before we have to pick chase up on sunday afternoon. we’re going out to eat tonight .. at a restaurant.. with out kiddie menus .. and i look forward to not having to cut anything up, or rushing out before he get’s bored.. so yeah a win win for all of us!

we have a whole saturday to look forward to .. just relaxing .. maybe a movie? tackle a few house projects we can’t do when he’s around.. ? who knows what crazy adventures are in store.

probably nothing that exciting ..and we’ll probably be besides ourselves with excitement when it’s sunday a.m .. and we’ll probably spend all day tomorrow talking about chase, or wondering what he’s doing at that exact second. .. ahh parenthood. good times.

i’ve been working with blogger so long .. i’m not used to this whole set up and i’m trying to figure this out as i go. it’s not hard ..just not the most familiar. so no .. don’t worry .. this blog isn’t going to be filled up with random flower pictures from my yard ..

I had a ‘Lick the whisk’ blog over at blogger a few months ago ..and when we were in the middle of moving + buying a house + ect .. I let that blog slip and just deleted it.. now I regret that and want it back! 

So here we are again! I’m getting settled in my new kitchen and have been putting it to good use!
